Mindy K. Bixby, D.O.

Dr. Mindy K. Bixby is board-certified in neurology and joined B.E.S.T. Center in 2014. Dr. Bixby is part of the Institute's Center for Neurologic Diseases where she treats patients with all aspects of neurological disease. She has a special interest in movement disorders, Parkinson's, essential tremor, atypical Parkinson's (multisystem atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, and corticobasal degeneration), dystonia, ataxia and spasticity.

Dr. Bixby received her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her residency she was Chief Resident in the Department of Neurology. Dr. Bixby remained at Georgetown to complete two subspecialty fellowships.  Her first fellowship was in neuro-rehabilitation/traumatic brain injury where she received training in treating patients with brain injury and post-stroke and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. She completed her second fellowship in movement disorders where she received intensive training in deep brain stimulation, botulinum toxin injections and the medical management of Parkinson's disease and related movement disorders.

Dr. Bixby's clinical experience includes caring for patients at all levels of neurological disease using a multidisciplinary approach including medical management, physical, occupational and speech therapy.
